“B” Thankful!

Camila Julien - Regional Manager of Ocaquatics • December 1, 2022

Ocaquatics Swim School is thankful for our annual traditions to join forces with our OcaFamilies to positively impact our Miami community! This November we focused on gratitude and generosity with our

  • Canned Food Drive
  • Thankful Leaf Donations
  • Giving Day
  • Paid time-off for team members to vote

We were honored to host our annual Canned Food Drive at each of our five Miami swim school locations. This year the cans we collected were donated to the Coconut Grove Crisis Food Pantry .

During November, Ocaquatics also raised funds for the , Hope Floats Foundation , an organization that provides scholarships for swimming lessons to children who are living in poverty. Each donor received a leaf on which they wrote down something for which they were thankful. The leaves were displayed at their respective locations’ bulletin boards. In total we received over $700 in donations!

Every year Ocaquatics designates the Friday after Thanksgiving as its annual Giving Day. As a team we participate in a group activity to pay our gratitude forward and make a difference. On November 25th Ocaquatics joined Clean Miami Beach at Virginia Key Beach. Together we were able to make a positive impact on our community, for our planet, and for our wildlife. There was an incredible amount of trash on the beach. Our team was overjoyed to be able to help while bonding together. With over 50 volunteers we collected

  • 354 pounds of trash
  • Over 1,000 bottle caps
  • Lots of plastic

We also learned about and exercised our right to vote! Team members received an hour of paid time off to vote in the November elections. (Ocaquatics does not advocate for any political party or candidate.)

As a Certified B Corp , our team members and OcaFamilies understand how these local acts make a huge difference. We are thrilled to be a Force for Good . We make it enjoyable and fun to learn about and practice social responsibility. Ocaquatics will continue to adopt traditions that benefit people and the planet.

This December Ocaquatics will participate in a Toy Drive hosted by our own team member Ms. Sergy B from our Tropical location! We invite you to join us as we give thanks and make a difference. You, too, can be a Force for Good!
