The Perfect First Step: Why Parents Love Our Water Programs
Your baby's first experiences in water set the foundation for a lifetime of water safety, confidence, and joy. But it's about so much more than just swimming: creating shared moments of discovery, building trust, and having fun together.
At Ocaquatics, our Parent and Me program is designed for parents who want their babies to learn essential water safety skills while enjoying quality bonding time in the water. Your participation isn't just encouraged—it's essential. You'll learn water safety techniques you can practice at home, and your baby gets the comfort of having you right there while they explore this exciting new world.
What makes this special: Your baby gets individualized attention in a small, intimate class setting (just 3-6 parent-child pairs), warm water maintained at a comfortable 90°F year-round, and a curriculum specifically designed for developmental milestones from 6 months through 3 years. Plus, you're building memories and bonding moments that your baby will benefit from long after they master swimming skills.
Water Safety Starts Early
Give Your Baby Essential Life Saving Skills
Water Acclimation
Becoming comfortable and confident in the aquatic environment instead of being fearful.
Breath Control
Understanding how to handle water near their face and developing natural breathing patterns.
Floating & Support
Learning to stay afloat and maintain safe positions in water.
Water Awareness
Understanding boundaries and safe water behavior.
You'll learn too:
Our classes teach parents proper water safety techniques, how to support your child correctly, and water safety practices you can apply at home and beyond the pool. This partnership between parent and instructor creates the strongest foundation for your child's water safety.
More Than Swimming: Water Play That Stimulates Development and Brings Joy
Every class features interactive games and songs that make learning feel like play, making your baby build water comfort while mastering essential skills without even realizing they're working. These aren't rigid drills; they're gentle water movements specifically designed to support physical development through natural play. The sensory experience—the warm water temperature, the movement, the sounds—stimulates your baby's developing brain while you provide quality one-on-one attention in a focused, supportive environment. It's learning disguised as joy.
Developmental benefits your baby gains
Gross Motor Skills
Water provides natural resistance that strengthens muscles and improves coordination.
Cognitive Development
New experiences in water stimulate brain development and neural connections.
Confidence & Independence
Success in water builds self-esteem and willingness to try new challenges.
Social Skills
Being part of a small class introduces your baby to peers and structured group experiences.
Body Awareness
Learning how their body moves and responds in a different environment (water).
